Default Bike cleaning - not happy

Detailed my 07 RG today. Used windex(non ammoniated) on the chrome - Pledge on paint. Micofiber cloth. On the paint there was quite a bit of streaking and the micofiber cloth kept leaving small traces of fiber all over - had to go over areas a couple of times. The crome faired better - yet still a lot of streaking. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I don't know what YOU are doing wrong, but yesterday I tried something my wife was using to wash windows--called KRUD KUTTER. All natural/biodegradeable. Just have to rinse well. No damage that I could see.

Spray the windex and pledge on the cloth first, not the bike if you did it the other way.

Use a hose, then soap & water, then dry. Otherwise your just grinding the dirt into the paint!

Sounds like the cloth needs washing... I have to clean and dry mine every time I wash the bike...

I have been using the Mr Clean, a 225mph leaf blower and then dabbing with a microfiber cloth for final touch ups. It works unbelievably well. I use Meguiars Glaze and Zymol wax (microfiber cloth for application and buffing here too). I use Mother's Showtime or Perfect Detail with microfiber for in-between washing touch ups. I have a vivid black RKC with (almost) no scratches or swirls and a finish that got me two unsolicited compliments just this weekend. The paint almost looks like it has depth to it. It takes about 15 minutes to wash and dry the bike and that includes hooking up Mr Clean and plugging in the leaf blower.
