Default Front suspension

I'm looking at possibly getting another bike. I came across a 2017 Ultra Limited Low that's already set up with most of the things I would want, exhaust, bars and detachable tourpack. The miles and price on it are decent too. The only drawback for me is the "Low". I would keep my Bitubo 13" shocks to put on it but what about the front end? Are the tubes the same as the standard limited? Could I just get a progressive or similar front kit in the standard length and drop in?

I have no personal knowledge about this, but I looked up the front fork parts for both an Ultra Limited FLHTK and Ultra Limited Low FLHTKL...

It looks like both bikes use the same sliders (#45500109 left & #45500111 right), and the same fork pipe assembly (#45500341 x 2).

But they use different damper tubes (#45500340 FLHTKL & #45500339 FLHTK) and different springs (#45500338 FLHTKL & #45500337 FLHTK).

So based on that, front cartridges should be interchangeable...

However, make sure to check this out for yourself...

The online parts finder I used for the Ultra Limited FLHTK, had a messed up parts picture. The item numbers and part descriptions, did not match up..... so I matched them by part name and part numbers, disregarding the item numbers.. Pretty sure I got it right, but please double check before spending any money on my say so...

Good luck with your mods...

hattitude is correct on the front end, tubes and sliders are the same, but springs and dampers are different as in the Harley lowering kit for the front end, also the handle bars and seat are different.

Thanks for the replies. The front end was all I was really concerned about. If I get a bike, I'll carry over my rear shocks and seats, and this low that I saw already has 12" bars on it. I just started looking around the internet last night and I'll see where it goes.

Consider adding a fork kit from a suspension company like Pro-Action. They can bring the height up for you and at the same time improve ride and handling.

I will probably be a lower price point, maybe Traxxion AR-25 or progressive mono tube or something similar.

All that work changing out, spend a few more bucks and do it with a good name brand like PA or equivalent. Do it once and done. Seen many cheap out and then end up spending more because didn;t work.
