I just bought a 2011 Electra Glide. Upgraded from a Sportster 883 and wow, what a difference. It's truly night and day.
Anyway, the radio is AM/FM only, which in my area, means little to no music. I'm hoping to add Bluetooth, or if required, a whole new radio that has Bluetooth. Obviously the less I spend the better, but I do need music. Any suggestions?
Also, on this new bike I find I'm getting buffeting around my helmet. I didn't get that on my old bike. I'm thinking the difference is the new one has a windshield and the old one didn't. What's the best way to deal with that?
Windshield height and shape has a lot to do with buffering. First determine where it's coming from, over the windshield, from under by the tank or around the sides. A windshield with recurve at the top and a height at just below your nose should cure above the windshield issues. If it's from below there are several solutions, front fork "fangs" and add on on under the fork and below the tank. Once you know where the buffeting is coming from search on posts about solutions.
Ride your bike.... when the buffeting starts, place your left arm horizontal across your chest. If the buffeting goes away or is greatly reduced, you are getting wind from under the fairing. If that's the case, consider installing the ugly fangs. That's what I did on my last two street glides. I do not care for the looks of the fangs, but I'm more for comfort over looks.

The stock radio had CD also and I front AUX input. It can be sent out to Iron cross and bluetooth can be added.
I have a 2010 and I use a cheapo 12v bluetooth adapter in the fairing that broadcasts an FM signal. I am saving up for a new head unit but until then, It functions just fine.

I previously had a similar bike to yours...a 2012 Ultra Classic. Initially I used one of those little plug in Bluetooth adapters. It worked pretty good but didn't function with the handlebar controls at all, and always had to make sure it was charged up. I then added one of the Metra Saddle Tramp BT-HD01 units like
. It's hard wired in and functions quite similar to a Bluetooth equipped radio. It was nice in that I could advance/repeat tracks with the handlebar controls. Just select BT-HD01 in the source menu of the radio and away you go.
As far as wind management, I had an HD issue 10" Windsplitter shield, HD issue wind deflectors on the forks (fangs) and the HD issue triple tree mounted deflector. This combination worked real well for me and could ride all day in comfort.

I'm about to add lower fairings on mine. I've done almost everything else but this so I'm hoping to have the perfect recipe. Doing a long ride this weekend so will report back.
