Had to think about your question. I think he gets a confirmation of when the bike is in the production line with an ETA. However; I don't think he can count on that until he gets the C of O. Certificate of Origin.
A dealer, bank, credit union or dealer, when financing a vehicle has the VIN number, to positively ID which piece of property (read: collateral) they are financing.
Maybe I asked wrong. I am financing through my credit union. I would like to speed up their process but, I cannot do anything until I have a VIN number. If my bike is really being built/shipped on Thursday, when can the dealer get me an accurate VIN number?
All dealers get an MSO in advance and that has all the legal information from the manufactorer. I agree with FLHTCUI05...........wait until the bike arrives at the dealers before you finance it.
I am sure your CU had have all of the paper done up...with the exception of the check, w/o a VIN number. But, I understand where you are coming from. I would be VERY anxious, if my new bike came in , and I couldn't have it cuz of bureaucratic "red tape"!!
