I have a 2012 CVO ultra. Last 2 weeks i had a check engine light come on at the red light and the idle went below 900 light cam back on. Today i went to go out and after i started it up it was running like a fouled plug when i gave it throttle. So i went down the road and bike just shut off. it restarted and I got it back to home. I check the codes and it showed C1095 and B 1121, B1122. I checked the left right blinker and they are fine. I did have the brake and clutch fluid changed out at the dealer recently if that makes any difference. C1095 description is "front brake switch open" So my question is would this cause the bike to just shut off while riding unless it is shorting out i guess.. I was originally thing fuel issue but now thinking electrical. thanks for any insight.. I will be taking it to the dealer since i do have a ESP with Harley still.
i just removed the TCA connector, looked clean however when i restarted the bike it almost wouldn't start and then it ran super rough im guessing this is the issue. Even though the connector looks good the main part must be bad of the tca anyone else have this issue to give some confidence of my diagnosis?
Double check the connector and make sure all the pins are " set " , one of them or more , may have pushed back into the connector . Use a little dielectric grease before you reinstall .
Just so you know , I keep a can of electrical contact cleaner in my shop , pull your main fuse first and spend some time cleaning your connectors , fuse / box , battery cables etc . Corrosion is not your friend .
thanks,
I cleaned it all up and check connectors. Under seat checked all the connections and battery connections (new batt 2 months ago) Bike starts but i was watching the idle its going higher then lower and keeps fluctuating between like 1500 and 900 If i remember it always was at 900 when warm now its all over. i do have the ESP so it will be going to the dealer hopefully they can get it in soon i have a 20 day trip starting july 28 thanks jeff
