The speedo on my '98 FLH is shot. The trip reset button/**** is missing (broken off inside speedo) and it doesn't read correctly at all (apparently, illiterate speedometers are a problem in these models). A "new one" run $275 and up. Someone posted in a different thread that they replaced their original one with a digital one. I'd rather stay original (analog/mechanical) but what are the digital options and what kind of work is needed to convert to one?
Not saying that he’ll be able to fix it, but, give ZEE’s Customs Inc. a call. He specializes in gauges. If he can’t fix it, maybe he can point you in the right direction. 612-363-5816
might be a great time to change the color of your gauge lights, too
FWIW I had a dakota digital on my fat boy. Loved it for the most part but in bright sunlight it was not visible. At first I thought it was my polarized glasses but it wasn't. This was even after turning the "sun" setting or whatever it was called to "on"
I still really liked it but mostly bc it gave me gear indicators besides just 6th gear.
