I’m going with Samsons for my Soft tail. And they will have baffles. Fish tails with no baffles sound like **** imo. Way too raspy. But Samsons sound awesome and are a quality system.
I picked up some SE fish tail mufflers off of ebay for my 2007 Ultra. I asked the guy why he was getting rid of them. He said he was tired of cutting his leg on them. I see what he meant as they have got me a few times. I can't shorten the exhaust pipe as that would interfere with the heat shield. I just have to watch out. They are 33 inches long. So. I would recommend to go with the 33" instead of the 36"
.
I have Samsons as well and like the look and sound.
For reference, on my Heritage, 28.5" Samsons end at the rear fender tip. I don't like the look of any fishtail longer than 33". So, to answer your question, go with 33" Samson fishtails.
I personally like the look and sound of the Samson and Bassani fishtails. Personal preference but the ones that look like a "rocket" doesn't speak to me. Here is the difference between the 33" vs 36" from Samson's site.
