If I was to purchase a 2018 street glide with the m8 114 what are the upgrades that’s needed to be done to the motor. I know some have said the oil pump. I know not much about the m8 but twin cam I’m good. Haha let me know your thought please
All across the board.
Two things to research and there is a TON of reading.
Transfer and sumping.
The first is very, very easily fixed. A cheap vent hose, gasket and drill are all that’s needed…well, time and fluids too.
The second, sumping…is hit or miss.
My 19 114 does not have the newest oil pump, 23K miles, 1/3 of that is probably 75 to 80MPH highway runs, no sumping.
But honestly, you’re gonna get a zillion answers, search transfer and sumping…and enjoy reading.
My advice.. look it over, make sure it’s in sound shape and taken care of…and if the price is right, buy it and ride it.
Like a lot of stuff, things get way blown out of proportion. However, some are legit and should be looked into…but that doesn’t mean it’s a brick wall to stop at, merely a dip in the road to be aware of and careful around.
