You already own a perfectly good ECM, so no need to purchase another, (T-Max) unless you're planning a power adder like nitrous or a turbo in the future.
To tune it, you will need a tuning device, so the tables in the ECM can be calibrated to the components installed. Easiest done with a dyno, where you can control the load, temp, AFR, etc, and not worry about speeding tickets. TTS Mastertune, Direct Link, Power Vision, are all good tuning devices, that skilled tuners can use to edit your ECM tables. The dyno is simply used to simulate road conditions.

If I’m not mistaken a stage 1 alone on an M8 is a waste including de-catting. They breathe well. De-catting will only get you cooler pipes and a cooler running engine. The engine side can be done with tuning.
