PCIII
It's after hours and I can't wait for tomorrow.
Just received PCIII from Jamie at Fuel Moto. Installing Sunday along with Rinehart Td's and K & N A/C assembly. Anybody know this stuff in layman terms?
The only map I've ever gotten from them was woefully inadequate in terms of the Notes. I believe all it said was something like "Custom map by Fuelmoto". Does not describe the map at all in terms of what intake, exhaust, or ECM loads it was designed for.
In case you don't run across the information anywhere else, don't leave the PC-III running on the 9-volt battery any longer than absolutely necessary. I got side-tracked for maybe 20 minutes one time after hooking up a fresh one and it wasn't strong enough to do the job anymore when I returned.
What map did Jamie load? How can I look at the map? Have USB line and 9 volt battery ready.

After installing everything, warm the bike up, connect the computer again with the 9V battery, and turn on the ignition. Don't start the bike. Click on "Power Commander Tools," then "Set Throttle Position." When the small window appears, click on "Reset," then open the throttle completely and hold until the large number on the right of the window settles (should be quickly), and return the throttle to rest. The smaller number on the left should be about 4-5k and the large number around 27-28k, and if not repeat the process. Then when finished click "OK", close everything out, shut down the program, and reassemble.
Glens reports his bike throws a fault code when the above process is used (9V plus ignition on), but mine doesn't, and it is an approved procedure in the PCIII manual.
Not sure if there are others having this problem.
When installing your slip-ons, use some anti-sieze compound (e.g., Permatex) on the muffler-exhaust joint to seal it. This may be good insurance to avoid decel popping. It will also serve to make it easier to remove the muffler later if necessary.

Upon reflection, I may only get that ECM error code when I actually run the engine with the 9v battery connected. In any case, it's a matter of taking a couple of moments to clear it. No big deal in the least.
the only thing that i noticed in iclicks erudite instructions (wtf does that mean? gonna have to look it up) is that there was no mention of setting the 0% throttle, only 100%. i set the 0% first with the bike running, and then set the 100% using the procedure already mentioned (make sure that you flip your stop/run switch to run or it won't work

Thanks for the tip! My stock '07 FLTR ran better after I installed the Power Commander, but I didn't follow through till I read your posts. Just came in from the shop after settin' the throttle position. Sure enough, it thought my idle was 5%. Took all of 10/15 seconds to set both. I'll see if it makes much difference next ride.
