I have my Dads 60 Duo Glide. I just put 10k into that on mechanicals and electrical. It doesnt matter, it was my Dads. It aint going anywhere and the money is secondary.. This shovel is complete and is in 5 condition but its all there and its special. Far from a basket case...

The old 1200cc, good engine, they actually run much smoother than the 1340cc shovels, it will be nice to watch,I know shovels well

Let the fun begin. I'd change the fluids,clean up the fuel system and carb,new shield, tires and ride that thing as is.

Agreed with above - Knock the crud off, make it safe, make it reliable and make it comfortable. That patina is priceless AND that is how you will remember him by....

Looks like a really good project, bike appears complete. Good luck on your restoration. I will be interested in seeing how far down the restoration route you decide to go, less is sometimes more.
