instead of charging while riding, why not just hook it up to a charger when you stop for lunch or any break that is 20 mins or longer? you'll get a pretty fair amount of time out of the initial charge, and then you can get a few more hours in 20 mins if you run it down.
I have two 20s units and am happy enough with them even on long rides as I charge when stopped and they last all day. It would almost be worth upgrading if the 50 was louder but I have JBl speakers and I can hear music and audio books at 80 on my EG but a wee bit more volume would not hurt. I rarely link to anyone since not many people I ride with opt to link so don’t know about the mesh difference and range. Also in Harleys infinite wisdom they took the toggle off the bike in 2020 so I don’t have a push to talk and not sure how well voice activated works.
To follow up on this 50s, it's way better than the 20s EVO I have. I already had the Fosgate speakers in my helmet, so all I had to do was snap this one on. Sound quality of music is greatly improved, I can hear things in the music that I didn't before and it's louder with no distortion. It also boots up quicker and connects to the WHIM faster. I don't like the bluetooth charging cable that comes with it that is supposed to perform updates automatically. I can't figure out how to get that set up, but I don't care. I just use a different cable and hook it up to my laptop and use the HD device manager. There hasn't been an update for this model yet anyway. I got a really good deal on this but if I had known it was this much better I would have got one a long time ago.
Updated mine 6 updates final 1.11
Is this what you have?
Thanks
No, I have 1.0 which is what I see as the only firmware version for Boom 50s. I did see the 1.11 when I was trying to set up and figure out the auto update feature with the SENA App on my phone. But that wasn't for the Harley branded 50s.

Your right it is 1.0
Also had to use different cable to hook to my laptop. That fast charge/update cable does not work!
Thanks for the info!
Also had to forget the 50S from my phone to get 50S to work with the Boom instead.
