Congrats on the new bike, you are where I was in 17 when I came from a Dyna to a SGS. Loved that bike, put so much damn money into it, it wasn't even funny. Stage 3 Boom audio, stage II Harley Torque Cam, mustang seats, a tour pack, grips, floorboards, Willie G this and that, you name it I did it, even polished stainless bolts replacing all the aluminum crap. You know where I didn't spend my money, on the crap actually matters, suspension, shocks, led over incandescent bulbs upgrade, a seat I could ride all day in, a windshield that works for ME.

When I bought my 20RGL I changed the front and rear shocks/cartridges, sent my seat out for overhaul, got a klockwerks windscreen, bluetooth for my music in my helmet, custom dynamics led lights so I can be seen better. 18 months into it, I sacrificed my factory warranty and did a stage II with components I wanted not what the EPA wanted.
I strongly suggest you ride that bike, and determine what feels good and not good, can you ride all day or do your shoulder blades burn, your *** hurt, your back cringe every bump you hit, head like a bobble head going down the road due to buffeting, etc.

Then you can experiment with upgrades for your ride that make it so comfortable you will want to ride again after you get off the bike.

No, he said he switched to the dark side and bought an RG. I suppose you could read it that he switched to the dark side on his Dyna, AND bought a Road Glide.

Congrats on the new Ride on the "Dark Side". Depending on your riding style and budget the bike runs like a cream dream stock albeit a bit quiet for most, but if you looking at putting a ton of miles on then first off...make the bike COMFORTABLE for you and your passenger if there will be one. If it's not comfortable, it's not enjoyable to ride. That being said: shocks front and rear are in order, T-Bars looks sharp on these things, so set them up for your height, a good aftermarket seat...the OEM is not all that bad once you get used to having a sore butt, but for 2-up riding it's not geared for that and your passenger will not enjoy long rides...neither will you. Highway pegs...definitely. Depending on your climate, if you are changing the bars, may as well add some heated grips while it's torn apart. A better windsheild that actually gives you wind protection; look at Klockworks or Freedom Sheilds. After this, safety features and all the other "cosmetic" items can come when you see whats out there.

Dark side huh? I would think the first way to start asking for help is to avoid criticizing or stereotyping an entire group based on a fairing preference. Below is a list of things you need. It's not my money so I can spend as much as I want.

Krause T Bar set up with top plate.

Ohlins 13" shocks

Saddlemen SDC

Fuel Moto Jackpot Riot RTX 2 into 1

Or you can ride it and change the things you don't like over time. But that's none of my business.
