Currently I have a 2016 road glide with just Vance and Hines twin slash slip ons. They seem to have gotten louder over the years and now when I go longer distances my head is pounding. Id like to find something a little mellow hour but not quite as mellow as stock. Any suggestions?
Check the baffles on your current pipes. If they got louder over time they can likely be put back to original for much cheaper than what new ones would cost.
edit: "original" meaning what your current pipes sounded like new. Not saying put factory pipes on it.
I just installed some Khrome Werks 4.5 slash cut that can be run with no baffles (deep but not obnoxious rumble),or with quiet baffles that look like stock oe baffles, dbKiller Torque Monster baffles that are slightly louder than stock and lastly the louvered Torque Monsters which are louder. Im waiting on these.
For long distance trips, I have a set of SE Slip-ons that I install. Takes a few minutes, and they are louder than stock, but no droning, and no headaches, after all day in the saddle.
for the twin cam, i am a big fan of the cvo take off mufflers with fullsac 2.0 baffles. go with the tech mat too. performance is great, and the sound has a nice deep tone, but is not too loud. i put a set on my wife's 2012 roadglide as a stopgap while she decided which way she wanted to go with her exhaust. she still had them on 7 years later when we went to trade in for her 2019 m8.

Agreed! I had this same setup on my 2012 UC. Very reasonable cost (lots of take-offs on ebay) so thought I'd give it a try. It was just what I was looking for and they were still on the bike 4 years later when I traded it in.
