Default Cam Install

Hey guys. I have a 2010 Ultra with the 96" and 35K miles. It is basically stock with the exception of de-catted head pipe, V&H twin slash, CVO high flow AC w/K&N filter. It also has FP3 but I know it has limited capabilities as far as tuning. I am just looking to go to a stage 2 type cam for more power riding 2-up in the mountains of WV. My thing is lack of indy's or dealers. I have reached out to several dealers around me both by calling and using their respective 'Contact Us' links with no return call or email. I can do the work myself if push comes to shove but still leaves me without a capable tune/tuner. What would you all recommend?

Do the work yourself, buy a Power Vision (and everything else) from Fuel Moto, get a map from them that closely matches your setup, and do auto-tuning runs.

I second the Power Vision from Fuel Moto. I have one on my 2010 Ultra and the customer service is amazing.

Weird, I thought I posted in here. I was suggesting contacting Fuel Moto and getting a Power Vision and doing it yourself. The canned tune will get you close enough to run AT and get yourself dialed in.

The other option is to make a vacation of it and haul it up to Fuel Moto or Hillside Cycles, take in the autumn sites, and have them do the work and dyno it. 👍

Plenty of videos on Youtube, I really like the one from S&S. I just did the cams on my 2011 FLHR, 96". Got everything from Fuel Moto. Don't know if you have ever had a motor with cams but it does change the way your bike wants to be ridden. I mean it wants to be ridden at a higher rpm than you probably have been riding it. I went with the Andrews 48h cams and they don't start coming on until around 2800 rpm and then they go!! Before the cam change I would cruise around 2600-2700. Just takes a little to get used to and I haven't been in 6th gear since I put them in. Fuel Moto is the way to go....

I am a customer and fan of FuelMoto.....

I also own and really like the PowerVision tuner.... very intuitive to use, and the base maps I've gotten from FuelMoto have been really close to perfect and only needed an Auto Tune session or two for a great running engine....

Having said that, inflation is up and money is getting tight.... You may want do a search for FP3 and bolt-in cams. I have no experience with teh Vance & Hines tuner(s).... But there have been many who have reported very good results with the FP3 and a bolt-in cam. And many customers sing the praises of Vance & Hines' customer service, as do many of us about FuelMoto...

My point is, if you are on a tight budget, you may be able to do a bolt-in cam, and use your FP3 with good results... You could at least try that first, then go with a PowerVision Tuner if you do't like the FP3 results....

Good luck with your mods...!
