As said above do it yourself. I did my '07 several years ago using the S&S 551 Easy-starts and it's the best thing I've ever done to a motorcycle and I've been riding bikes since 1965. I bought the necessary tools and watched a few videos and my bike still today with 80K miles runs better than it did when I bought it in 2011 with 19K miles. And yes on the Power Vision from Fuel Moto.

If you want to do it yourself and need the tools let me know. I still have them and will sell them to you at half the cost of new plus shipping. I need to start liquidating my stuff and I don't think I'll be doing any more cam swaps. Oh, and be prepared to upgrade your clutch. That was the first thing I noticed on my initial run after the cam swap.

FP3 served me well before and after a cam change. once you figure out what cams you will be running contact V&H to see if they have a map for it. otherwise PV from FM.
good luck!

Thank you. I may go that route to keeps costs down. Getting the PV is a big chunk (1/3) of the project cost

Don’t want to hijack the thread. But I love reading these kinds of threads, since I plan to do stage II someday.

I primarily like to ride around 3000 rpm and don’t really want to go over that. But would definitely like to have a nice smooth, strong acceleration below 3k rpm. Power to pass when the need arises.

Looking forward to OP’s build. OP Good luck on your project

You are riding a v-twin motorcycle not a Cummins diesel. The Harley v-twin is designed to run higher RPM.

I like Harley but I don’t trust it like my Japanese bikes I had. I’m afraid it will break down if I ride it hard. In 6 yrs and 60,000 miles I haven’t once ridden it over 3k rpm. Lol

I try not to push it hard. When I do stage II, I’ll make a list of parts to upgrade.

In addition to this being among the silliest things I've ever heard, I'm not sure how this is even possible.

Unless you're kidding and I'm just dense.

I’m serious. I like Harley but don’t trust it as much as my Japanese bikes.

May be it’s in my mind. But nothing is going to convince me that Harley is as much reliable as Honda. It’s fun but not trustworthy.

Thats why my bike is still stock, I’m afraid to even do stage II.

like I said maybe it’s just my perception.

All I know is if you don’t abuse your Harley and take it easy these Rushmore bikes will get you past 100k miles without issues. But sooner or later you’ll have to upgrade the parts. Build top or bottom end and many other things. Won’t be like a goldwing that it last more than 500k miles with just maintenance.
