Default Need advice before pulling the trigger...

So I have a 2008 Road King Police with 16" spoke wheels, I came across a nice set of take off enforcer 19" front and 16" rear wheels, rotors and tires. will this be a direct fit?

As far as I know, the axle changed in 2008, so your axles will fit. The next question is, did these come off an ABS bike and do you have ABS? I think 2008 was the first year for that too.

Edit: zooming in, looks like you have ABS. So the only limiting factor I can think of is if these have the ABS bearings.

Didnt the frame and swing arm change in 09. What year did the wheels come off of?

Those wheels look like they are from a much newer bike, including the cush drive for the rear wheel. Pretty sure '08 didn't have any of that.

Here is my simple method of checking year fitment.

Get yourself a HD Parts Catalog, the one the dealership gives away for free. Now look up a custom wheel they sell. It will clearly list the year range the wheel fits, lets say 2002 thru 2008. Now what year is your bike and what year was the bike the wheels came from? If they are both in the same range, you should be good. it works for me, good luck.

The frame changed in 2009, but I thought a 180 fits on the 2008 when the axle changed from 2007. 2008 is a weird year, but some things are more modern than the 2007's.

Checking the parts catalogue is a flawless way of determining fitment though.

Architect, you would be mistaken. My '08 has the cush drive rear wheel. Bought it brand new with that wheel from the factory, plus the manual covers it. Biggest potential snag I see would be the ABS bearings. I believe the wheels are the same, so changing the bearings MIGHT be all that's needed. Also, check the rotor diameter. The '08 have 300 mm discs in front to fit the caliper location. Those look to maybe be larger diameter, and if so, they will NOT be compatible.

ABS bearings are more narrow on the side of the sensor. His bike appears to have ABS.

300mm is the equivalent of 11.8" which is the same from 2008 to today. The rotors will fit without adjustment. The bearing issue is all I see, as he has not responded as to whether the new wheels have the ABS bearing.

Rear wheel from 2009+ will not fit on a 2008 and older, they're quite different in width.

Although the 08 has a cush drive, it is a one year design.
