Default Swing arm

I’m running a 2006 Electra Glide SE 103 and my question is can I change out to a 2009 or later swing arm and run the wider impeller type rim

It's not just the swing arm to consider.....

The '09+ had a different frame with a different rear fender strut set-up than the 2006 touring bikes.

So IF the swing arm fit, and IF you could ad the wider Impeller rim.... would it clear between the pre-'09 (2006) fender struts.....???

Hopefully someone will chime in who has specific knowledge about that mod....

Good luck with your mod....

Thanks the whole thing is I run 65 back tooth spocket for more on the top end and have snapped the bolts off in the rim 4 times nowThat is why I was wanting to go to a impeller type rim to keep from snapping the bolts off in the rim

Wow...

I certainly don't have enough info to even hazard a guess, but first impression, it doesn't sound like the rim is the problem....

Good luck with your mod..

Two words: torque wrench.

If you're snapping steel bolts in aluminum threads, you're taking them WAY too tight.

Sounds like the threads are worn in the hub, the mating surfaces are not flat and the pulley holes oblong.
