And why would “they” go snooping? From what I understand, and his name is Joe at Desert Winds Harley Davidson in Mesa AZ off Country Club/87 and southern, they are doing any bike that comes in, connect, hit update, probably on some apparatus and that’s it. No readouts no checks, update software via the master sent by corporate and that’s it. Done usually during a service like all “software updates” many of which you nor I are aware of. Until there’s a question regarding some mechanical failure that requires warranty coverage, NO one, locally, or at corporate is looking at every FN Harley every time there’s service done anymore than anyone is monitoring you and your cellphone. And let’s be honest, you put a non Harley tuner software addition to your bike, you know you are technically out of warranty. It’s been beaten to death worse than oil as oil use WILL NOT void a warranty. Any more than an aftermarket tune will do so automagically. As someone posted, quit playing warranty police. This is about an software update that is technically a recall due to the item involved, the brake light system.
Let me help clarify things here - no person is "looking". When they connect the bike to the digital tech (every time it comes in for service), it checks for everything (software updates, recalls, etc etc,) automatically. No user interaction occurs. If the software finds a third party map has been used, the vehicle is flagged for powertrain warranty. That's the way it works.
It is information a lot of you guys obviously don't know .
Warranty threads are like oil threads, discussed here multiple times, while your post is legitimate, it's old tired info that everyone here is very well aware of, new members can search warranty and get endless post referencing warranty. OP is well aware of the info you provided and specifically stated he's not looking for any comment related to warranty.
@30glock not everyone has been on here that long and even if the were, its a harmless reminder just ignore it.
The problem is, and the exact reason I asked people to leave it alone, is of the previous 23 posts on this thread, SEVENTEEN of them were on that same beaten to death topic.
Gee I didn’t read them or count them all. M’kay Mchad?
Not really a reason to get to worked up. Some people don’t monitor and also use historical posts for info so they jump in the middle of things for information.

I'll post what I want to when, I want to, If you don't like it skip over it. I see the cancel culture is creeping into the forum. Have a great evening!

See my point?
Worked up? Trust me brother, theres nothing any keyboard commando here could write that would get me worked up.
To have an effective forum its helpful to keep threads on topic, rather than going off on old news topics that seem to find their ways into any thread they can. It really seems some get real satisfaction preaching the warranty sermon. Nevertheless, I suspected it would go that way, hence my statement (eh?).
Stuff like that makes this forum more like Facebook, which as you probably know, sucks. Royally.
