Im having trouble choking up the 150 bucks for a pair of OEM HD chrome hand control levers for my 17 RK. I know the difference between good chrome and bad, but where is the price break point? Ive seen chrome levers on Amazon for 24 bucks, 40 bucks, 50 bucks......obviously all from China, most probably have real thin chrome plating. What are the alternatives? (while avoiding cheap junk that will flake off in a year).
Id looked into getting my originals chromed, but its just as expensive (or more) than buying HD new.
The Kuryakyn chrome Trigger levers actually have very good chrome on them. Have a set on my '04 Softail for 10 years and they still look great. Put a set on my '16 RGU.

Do the triggers actually provide any benefit? Ive always wondered.

This is one of the things that make Harley Davidson superior to other motorcycles.
OEM Harley levers are forged aluminum levers not cast aluminum. The difference is the forged levers are much stronger, they will bend instead of snapping off. They have a bronze bushing to pivot on also.
I don’t know about the new stuff, but it is this way on older bikes.
Yes things are different on a Harley.

You know, if you go with chrome control levers, you're gonna have to change out the clutch bracket and master cylinder reservoir. Not to mention the switch housings. Then comes the forks........
I cried once, like someone else said. But they're still shiny and looking like new 8 years later.
