Out ridding today and when I went to start my Ultra it seemed dead (dead spot) then started. My battery is new, and it checked out. I think I am just going to clean of all the connections and fuses. Anything else?
Check your battery connections. Had that happen to my wifes bike once in the parking lot of a local H.D. dealer. Turned out to be one out the battery terminal connections. Simple fix.

Starter clutches are common, often will hear it kick back, usually more so when batteries are old. As said starter relay. But what exactly did it do? Can you reproduce it home? If so put a meter on it.
Was dash lit up like normal? If FI did you hear pump come on? Look for all the detail next time it does it. Tough when intermittent.
