Default Upper fork sliders replacement

Happy new year guys. Curious if anyone knew of a way to replace the upper fork sliders without having to take the forks out. I know there’s some creative people in this forum so thought I would ask. I’m thinking no but seems like a lot of work for a company little piece of tin to replace.

Just finished changing one of mine yesterday. Yes you have to take it all apart to do it. Are you going to change both and did you purchase any yet? I found a new HD one in the box on e-bay for a good price. I saw a pair of them there for a good price a few days ago. MSRP on them is $64 plus tax each last I knew. Not a bad job I thought, easier than working on cars. The bike only needs to be lifted just enough for the front wheel to spin.

The wheel attaches to the slider. The slider is attached to the fork pipe, which goes into the triple tree, and the cover (cowbell) is attached to the lower triple tree.
Which part are you talking about?

He says a little piece of tin so I think he means the cover (cowbell).

Ok. Thanks.
So it has nothing to do with the upper slider, whatever that is.

Ya might as well make it a project - replacing your cow-bells AND your lower fork legs with chrome or powder coated legs - And - upgrade the fork internal components with quality springs and Emulators or cartridge inserts - you will Love the improved Suspension!
