Thanks...That's what I want.. A new bottle jack. I'll keep calling
mike
You can buy a replacement bottle jack from numerous other places for their jack, as that's what I did and it was better than the one that came with it. 14 yrs and the bottle jack was the only issue, new bottle jack for 9 yrs.
First, let me say that they build a GREAT lift. Excellent craftsmanship and just as sturdy and maneuverable as their website demonstrates. Mine is almost 9 yrs old and I really like it.
Beginning about a year and a half ago J&S began having labor issues. It's a small company and even down one or two employees can affect their production times. Last year I ordered a replacement bottle jack. After placing the order it was "crickets". Numerous calls, texts, emails went unanswered for 6 months. Finally, at the 8 months point I "disputed" the charge on my CC with my bank and got my refund.......then about 4 weeks later, the replacement bottle suddenly arrived at my doorstep.....go figure.
In anticipation of never getting the J&S replacement bottle jack, I began shopping for a replacement bottle jack that had a large enough BASE PLATE to drill through to fit the existing mounting plate on my J&S lift. I bought a SUNEX #4406 - 6 Ton Bottle Jack which has a large enough base plate for drilling and mounting AND has the same overall dimensions to fit the J&S lift. (now that I eventually received the replacement from J&S, I don't need the SUNEX but I'll probably just keep it for now, because it's heavy and selling it with shipping would be costly).
IF you're waiting and can be patient you'll get the J&S replacement "eventually"....but IF you can't wait, shop for a bottle jack that will fill the need NOW.

FYI.....It's a good idea to save the foot peddle and the "cuff" the foot peddle fits into IF YOU BUY the SUNEX. It's easy to transfer the "cuff" onto the SUNEX if you want to use your original foot peddle. Otherwise you'll need to use the 2-piece handle that comes with the Sunex.

that's correct, I just wish the **** worked with the new jack too.
I was considering a J&S Jack. Wasn't even that turned off by the 12-14 weeks. But, there's no way to even order and pay for it on their site and they don't answer the phone. Not to mention it's now over $1000 for the Jack, oil pan, handle and shipping. So I'm going to do the right thing and spend twice as much on a new Handy SAM1200 lift table
