Main difference is that the RG has the fairing mounted on the frame, the SG has the fairing mounted on the bars. Otherwise very similar bikes. Some say the bars feel lighter on the RG. Some also say that it handles the road wind better. All I know is I love my RG. Good luck.

I believe the SG is lowered but pretty much a Standard Eletra Glide with a stereo and short, tinted windscreen. The saddle bag latches are color matched also. The Roadie is HD's best bike it is great for touring and handles great in town.

shhhhhhh!!! You are supposed to say that the RG is horrible remember? The secret cannot get out.

The others have pretty much nailed the difference. The RG also has passenger floorboards and the SG has pegs. The SG also has the fancy rear fender skirt. The biggest difference in the two is the handling. Ask Monstermile..

yes, yes...... that's right!

RG's BLOW!

I hear that fixed mount fairing catches a lof air and causes the front wheel to lift! One can't have that.

RG's are for owners who don't have the arm strength to steer an SG, and bought them only because Harley doesn't offer power steering.[sm=yeahsmile.gif]

They're both great bikes. I will differ with you on the fairing catching air and lifting the front end. Hasn't happened to me yet although I only have a few hundred miles under my belt on this bike. BTW, if your trying to start a verbal battle, you will have to try WAY HARDER.

Gee let me guess . . . you own a SG. Funny thing how we all justify what we own and insist it is better than the next guys. I personally like both bikes. I chose the RG because I have wimpy little arms . . (acutally I have 18" guns).

BTW, does the SG come with a stereo and cruise control like the RG?
