Paint Defect (from factory)
While my wife and I were installing the Rear Detachable Docking Kit, we noticed this on the rear fender. This chip happened before the clearcoat went on because it is clearcoated over. I cannot touch it up because there is no chip to fill in. The bike has only been riden from the dealer to my garage. What would you do?

What would I do??? Take it back and show them. If there is no texture to it and it is obvious under the clear, then it came from the factory that way. How long have you had it???

my wife bought an 03 black and silver anniversary edition custom (sporty). when washing it one day, she noticed a thumbprint in the paint on the bottom of the fuel tank. we took it back to the dealer. they ordered another one, didn't like the one that came in, and ordered another one. swapped them out and never gave us a hint of a problem.

I had a paint blemish on my front fender from the factory and the dealer replaced the front fender. I had to wait three months for the fender to show up though.

I would take it back. But......... when I picked up my RG the dealer made me look it over, top to bottom for any flaws in the paint, because after it left the show room, the would not cover anything on the paint, but in your case, they should, if theres clear over the chip.
