Is there any way to identify the different models of Hammock seat? I got it used and fixed the sling but I'm curious whether it's the Rushmore model or an older one.
The number on the seat pan most often isn't the part number for the actual seat, so not sure how you could tell which seat it is exactly..... but....
The biggest difference between seat fitments are how the nose of the seat fits to the frame... Some have a slot and others have a tab...
I believe the tab is 2008 and earlier, and the slot is 2009+.... but the years are from memory, so may not be accurate...
I believe the differences between the '09+ and the Rushmore seats (14+) are minimal....
Even though it's not listed in the fitment, I put an earlier HD Sundowner on my 2016 Rushmore because it had a wider seat section.. It fits and works fine for me, but I guess there are some small differences.... like some say it can rub on the passenger speakers and/or might be just a touch longer and a little harder to reach the seat screw.... but I've had no problems...
From what I've read, the Rushmore seat is a bit bigger and sits further forward than the 08-13 seat but I'm not 100% sure. We demoed a Rushmore hammock last year and really liked it, I'm hoping this one is the same, even though it's got some miles and I had to fix the sling.
I have the 52000003A seat which is the earlier version. HD specs said it was for 2009 to 2013. I had it on my 2012 UC. I kept it and put it on my 2020 RGL. Fits no problem at all.
If I recall, the 2014+ Rushmore Hammock is a bit narrower in the back...something to do with fitting better if you have a TP detach kit...I think??
Anyway, when I was looking I specifically wanted the one I have. Numerous sources said it's actually cut back almost an inch more than the stock seat and a bit higher (which I wanted as well).
Same sources said the 2014+ has a similar seating position to stock. If I set my stock seat beside my 52000003A Hammock, the Hammock definitely sits me back a bit more compared to stock.
All this to say I'm not sure how to verify which one you have. If there's any specific markings or something on yours, I can check them against mine if you'd like.
The one in your picture looks to be a 13 down seat. It looks just like mine. I opted for the 13 down seat on my 2014 bike, because it offers a bit more legroom for the rider, over the 14 up. It's my favorite seat yet.

I thought the Rushmore bikes were wider in the back?
If you get a spare minute could you please measure the width of the passenger area and the length from the front of the seat to the back of the rider's portion for comparison?

And I have no idea why the pic is upside down
For interest sake, I measured my 52000003A (2013 & down) Hammock.
Hard to get exact but the passenger area measures about 15 1/2" at it's widest point.
From the front tip of the seat to the seam behind the rider portion is 17"...straight across, not following the contour of the seat. From the tip to the backrest slot is about 19"...again, straight across.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Looks like that's what I have.
Now, the big question is am I going to have problems with my bars now that I know this seat will put me back a couple of inches. The bike came with Tallboy bars and I've got them even with the forks. The combo of these bars and the current model hammock demo seat was about perfect. I do have to stretch to reach the bars at full lock.
Hopefully I'll be able to get out soon but it's going to be a while before there are any long rides around here.
