There is an unused +12V and -12V that is ignition hot on the left side of the radio that works great fro a gps. It only has power with the switch on. It is where HD say to power the GPS they sell.
There is a 12 volt + and - spade connectors on the left side of the radio under the fairing. This only has power with the switch on. This is where HD says to connect the GPS they sell.
Check your wiring diagrahm in the Service Manual, to verify that the connector under the seat has a constant 12V supply. Some bikes have this connector wired through the Acc Swith on the Fairing or the handle bar swithces.
Cop Bikes have this Connector available 100% of the time, as it is not switched.
Also have my Garmin mounted on the left handlebar with a locked detachable mount and using the cigar lighter plug on the same side of the faring for power. While the dealer had my fairing off for other upgrades, I had him install another cigar plug receptacale on the right side in the same position as the left side one from the factory. It is jumpered from the factory one so it is on the same factory fuse/power source as either plug will never draw enough amps to be a problem used as I intend to use them, power sources for GPS or XM radios. These cigar lighter plug power sources areactivated by the key, off with the ignition is off, etc. I can still keep my "accessories" switch for other things, lower running lights, etc.
