I keep blowing the fuse for my brake lights. Just as soon as I turn the switch on the fuse pops. First the speedo and tach went out, but that is ok now, but this one keeps it up. I have checked for bare wires, loose wires etc, but so far nothing. Any ideas?
You could have a short in the tail-lamp socket as well. You need to isolate the fault. Unplug the tail lamp at the rear fender and see if it still blows the fuse. If not trace it fromthe plug to the lamp.
If it still blows the fuse, unplug the brakeswitch(s) one at a timeand retest. It`s a process of elimination. You could also have any-other lamp ETC that`s on that circuit causing this failure, not just brake thelamp.
