I have an RKC and to me it embodies everything a motorcycle should be. It embodies everything Harley. If I wanted better protection from the weather I'd be in a cage.
I have ridden friends RK's and they are with out a doubt the best looking HD made. I chose the RG for many reasons. One of which is believe it or not it is the best handling bike HD makes.
Oh yeah, Road Glide suck big time. *I am under oath to say that*
I have an 07 RK with about 7000 miles on it and honestly love the bike... Set it up solo and take the shield off and its a cruiser... put it all on and it will work as a tourer. Wish I had more time on it, but travel kills that for me! the travel does allow me to rent bikes while in some unusual areas and cruise. Recently I rented an 07 RG with a shorty windshield and Python slips&stage1. I now know what my next bike will be, a Glide. That bike handled better then the King for sure and the frame mounted fairing made the bike very stable in any kind of winds... and the stereo and storage was cool. Prob keep the King though
Have a RK Classic and love the look and the ride. Never rode a RG, but want to rent one on my next weeklong vacation. Something about the dash on it though that doesn't look right. Maybe I'd change my mind if I rode it.
I love my 07 RK classic. I put on wind deflectors (58121-85B) and Road Tech radio. I pipe my Zumo XM and mp3 player through the radio. I like the open feeling andbeing able to see the road zip by mile after mile. Still like the classic "crusier" look a little more than the "bagger" look.
Once you go Road Glide you won't go back. No wind buffeting, since Fairing attached to frame and not forks. I had a Royal Star Tour Deluxe with fairing mounted on forks and I live in Fontana, Ca the wind capital of So. Cal. and it was a nightmare to run in windy conditions. No comparison IMHO go with Road Glide. Good luck!
