well its great info but not what i was lookin for. i remember this shield was almost scratch proof and you could use any chemical -rain x, windex ect....-on it with no prob
The Clearview windshields are probably the ones. You can buff them out, use Rain-x etc on them with no clouding. I have 2 of them and really like them. Hope that helps
clearview looks like what i want. couple of questions. i look thrumy shield-it measures 12" from top of shield to where the shield meets tthe fairing. i notice they have 14/16/18 inch shields also. from my standpoint 12 is high enough but the pass sits higher than me and exp some buffeting. going to a higher shield would help this right??
also im considering a smoked shield. what are the benefits. better vision with smoke or clear???

Clear if you're looking thru it, smoked if you're looking over it. A smoked w/s will make it harder to see at night if you're looking thru it.
my only exp with windshields has been looking thru them. i measured yesterday . mine is a twelve. for me to look over it i need an 8 or 9. will i have any buffeting, will i get the same prot from the wind/bugs with the shorter shield ???
BTW - is it as easy as it looks to change the shield? 3 screws-simple in/out??
