Same one last night, had my hand an foot on the brake ready for a fast stop. Not much one can do when some one is at a stop sign and then crosses in front of you like you are not there at the last second.. Had the thought that I could flash the beams to get there attention but decided that it would do more harm than good. In this case what I could have done differently was to stay home.
I watch their tires when Im coming towards an intersection, if I see them starting to move, I hit the horn button immediately. Left turns are the cause of many accidents. Either someone turning left cuts you off or biker turning left gets hit.
This person pulling out in front of me and then stopping has messed with me a bit. I have got right back out and been riding but when I am getting ready to go I feel like I am gearing up to go out on patrol mission. I look at my wife and hope I make it back. I am pretty sure I will.
Completely understand friend. Every time I go for a ride, I expect someone to try to kill me, thats just how I have learned to be mentally alert and its just a part of my attitude balancing risk vs reward. BTW, I've been riding non-stop for close to 50 years. I've also known riders who had close calls like yours and couldnt deal with the risk and never got on a bike again.

I am 2 weeks into my second knee surgery recovery so far and go out into the garage and look at my bikes every day. Maybe I can go for a spin in a month. Was thinking about trading for a 2022 Electra Glide but decided to keep the Road King.

Good luck on your recovery, hope youre back on the bike soon.
Ive owned several ultra Limiteds and liked every one of them, but . Last year I bought a Road Glide Limited and after 10k miles I know this is the model Ill stay with until I have to down size, which I think will be in 10 years, when I turn 80
I don't claim to be an expert but after 30000000+ miles accident free in a truck and maybe 400000 on a motorcycle I most likely slammed the breaks on 20 times, Its called defensive driving look ahead look all around you and be ready for anything. Motorcycle course is good but try a defensive driving course. Ride safe, have fun and pay attention.

That is an impressive record, I would most certainly classify you as an expert. Thanks for keeping the other 99.9% of us safe, and I really mean it.
