I have almost all the parts either here or on order except the rear fender. I just have to find an orange I like, you don't happen to know the color code for Copper Canyon thats on some ofthe SVO's ?
Well just got done detailing my flawless Black 04 Eglide. Backing it out of the garage and I clipped the corner of my F150's bumper with the top section of my right saddlebag.....oh no I don't want to look. I get off my bike hoping for just a minor surface scratch, but nope I'm Irish a gouge through the paint 1 inch in long. Went to the HD shop they said they could build up the paint wet sand and buff and it would look a lot better, bodyshop will repair for $150 and clear coat the whole bag. I'll go the HD shop first and see if it is something I can live with. First serious scratch on my Glide I've owned and babied for two years. DAMN !
Yeah, that's life. My SG is now nine months old and I have more dings and scratches in it than I got in my old RK in nine years. I fixed up all with touch-up paint and only I would know they're there, but the fact is that if you ride the thing the dings are impossible to avoid.
Buy a touch-up paint kit from your HD shop and try to repair it yourself. It may not work to your satisfaction, but it's worth a try.
I found a scratch on my front fender that was not put there by me. I was not happy. I had already ordered the touch up paint, and rushed to fix it. It is barely noticable now, but still, I should have done a better job. I plan on some custom paint, in the future, soI wont worry about it. But, on the saddlebag issue. I have a rk custom, with the leather bags. I was backing out of the garage and ran smack into a bush. I put a couple of scratches in the right one that no amount of leather cleaner and dye is going to take out. It probally isn't noticable to anyone but me, but I know it's there. And, I too, did it myself. So I do understand. [:@]
