Yeah that is what it is all about, filtering air. I was unaware of these synthetic filters. I will check them out, thank you for this.
I will ask for this at my dealer.

Well good news, bad news, and good news...

Good news....

I have the actual filter part numbers for you:

Round High-Flow synthetic dry filter - #29244-08
Teardrop High-Flow synthetic dry filter - #29385-08
Oval Ventilator High-Flow synthetic dry filter - #29670-09

They also came in SE Stage I air filter packages.

Bad news.... (I just noticed while looking online)

They only sold them for the Twin Cam bikes, and apparently went to all gauze, oiled filters for M8 bikes.

They show as either "unavailable online" or "sold out" in the HD online parts finder. That probably means they are discontinued, and once old stock is sold, they will be gone for good.

Good news.....

There are some NOS (new old stock) on eBay. There may be some NOS in various dealerships, unless already sold out.

If you get one, it will last many years and many miles.

DK Customs offers some synthetic high flow dry element air filters, made by AEM Brute Force Air Filters.

Fuel Moto offers their "BMF Hi Flow Dry Element" air filter that is washable. It is available for oval HD Ventilator air cleaners, and round AC/DC & S&S Stealth air cleaners. But these are truly high flow for high horsepower applications, and thicker than standard Stage I or OEM air filters. They will support 150+HP levels.

FWIW...

I use the round HD dry element filters on an '01 Springer with Stage I, an '03 Heritage with big bore kit (95") w/headwork, and a '16 Low Rider with 103"HO w/Ventilator air cleaner. I swapped out the oiled, gauze filter element on the Stealth air cleaner on my bagger with a Fuel Moto BMF Hi Flow Dry Element Air cleaner. That bike has a 124" S&S crate engine from Fuel Moto at 135HP/151TQ.

Ditch it. Get a real filter. Agree with Highway Handler.
