I think this might have been discussed before but....I'm trying to update my nav maps to the latest version. I have a 2022 Ultra Limited and I downloaded the HDBoomBoxGTS tool kit and exported like I was supposed to, grabbed the new file and added it to the tool kit and it then copied it to my usb drive. I took the drive to the bike and turned it on. I inserted the usb stick and it ask if I wanted to upgrade, I said yes the screen went black and didn't come back. After an hour, I turned the bike off and counted to 30, turned the bike back on and the screen is still not loading at all and is just black. Does anyone know how to reset it back to factory? I tried holding down the power/mute button as I turned it on but the screen never comes on. When I pull out the usb stick from the bike, all I get is a message that says Please insert USB device with the proper content to complete the update... with a retry button.

I had the same thing on my 2022 SGS, it turned out to be a faulty usb stick, luckily, I'm in the habit of backing up everything. So I had prepared 2 USB sticks in the bike before putting the update on the stick via toolkit on the PC.
I tried several hours and even called the dealer to ask what could be wrong ... luckily I had the spare stick, ( also had a copy of the stick on the pc, I still do ) and I downloaded the new maps again via the PC on the spare usb
stick and it worked like a piece of cake. The total install took aprox 30 minutes with the spare stick.
On my 2020, I just downloaded the bike, let the site do its thing. Put back in bike and it did its thing. At no point do I recall being asked if I wanted to upgrade.
I also was asked if I wanted to update after I put the usb stick with updated maps on it in the bike ( with the faulty stick ), it turned out to be some bad sectors or wathever it called on the stick, I still can
use the stick for playing music so it is weird. Wen I used the spare stick wen the screen was black no updated question was present but it just did his work.

did you seriously pay the $149 for the updated maps on a bike that is about a year old? you do you, but i seriously woudn't spend the cash on that. the maps take years to update anyway. but, you may have updated your maps with the same maps and spent the money for nought.
remember too, the radio firmware updates are free. the dealer poi updates are free. the nav updates cost.
No I didn't have to. Maybe I only updated the system software....LOL I know it didn't ask me for any kind of payments. First time it does, I'll prob. switch to android auto or something like that.
