Default Iac?

Years ago my 2007 Ultra had a "glitch in it's giddy up". Posted on here. Suggestions. Spray cleaner in the IAC. That worked. It started acting up last week. I did same procedure. It worked until last night. Now it will start up and run for about 2 revs and die. Suggestions about what to look into now are appreciated. Here is link to old thread. Thanks.

My guess is that the IAC has now finally failed on you.

07UltraGuy. Thanks, That is the only leave me on the side of the road situation that my 07 Ultra has presented me with. I have been thinking about M8 shopping even before that happened. As the 07 is getting a little long in the tooth. I will replace the IAC. As recommended. To keep the 07 going. Hopefully. Still shopping around for a M8 for backup.

Just curious, do you still have the factory breather vents dumping crankcase pressure into the intake, or have you gone to a catch can, vent to atmosphere, etc?

My ‘07 would cut out when coming to a stop every couple thousand miles because it couldn’t find idle.

I ended up adding a catch can setup & it really helped.
Since the bike is apart now for a rebuild after being hit in June, I went ahead and rebuilt the umbrella valves and added rocker lockers too.

Whether this solves the issue completely remains to be seen, but I am fairly confident in the current setup.

Just an FYI.....

I have an IAC on back order since early July through a dealership. I forgot about the back order because I found another dealer about 40 miles away with one in stock and got my bike running. The dealer with the backorder called yesterday to tell me the MoCo says the IAC will be available early November.

Unless you find a dealer with one in stock, you'll have to go aftermarket to get one quickly....

Good luck with the repair

The 27658-06 IAC shows to be available to ship from Harley. A couple of north Texas dealers have one in stock.

This fuel pressure tester will work on a 07 if you think it could be a fuel issue.

I have the breather vented to the atmosphere. Replaced umbrella valves about 20,000 miles ago. It did the same thing about a year ago on a trip to Amarillo. We unplugged the connection to the IAC and plugged it back in. It started up and ran right . Until now. The symptoms fit. High idle at start. Warmed up. Erratic idle. Now. Start run a couple of revs and die.

Watch out for fractures in the wiring. Buddy’s bike a 2011 similar issue, dealer found a fractured wire in the wiring to the IAC. Check Connectors too, that you unplugged and replugged did a temp fix makes that a suspect. Those tiny pins/sockets in those connectors may not be making great contact, you could try narrowing the socket side with a thin oring pick. The final issue with that 2011 was a failing MAP sensor now it runs like new and he’s had a full season no problems.

I think I will go with a Fueling IAC from Dennis Kirk. Thanks.

Exactly which spray cleaner are you using? Carb Cleaner, Throttle body Cleaner, or Mass Air Flow Cleaner?
