Default new pipes

I just a 98 FLHTC for an 06 FLHTC. I kept the slip on mufflers and put them on my new bike. I noticed is running hot. I never put my own pipes on so I dont know much about it.I was told I had to get the bike tuned. Is this necessary ? and if yes how is it done ?

Check for leaks @ the mufflers... That can cause it to heat up a bit more the normal... Also depending on which mufflers you installed (being to free flowing) can cause the same conditions... You can also check the spark plug conditions...
Remember the '07s do run hotter then the 1998's...

I used vance and hines slash cut. The bike is an 06 not an 07. Is the tune up neccesary ?

Also the bike only has 2700 miles so the plugs are fine. When i was running it on the stock pipes it was running cooler.
