Back in early 70s, I bought a used 66 triumph 650 trophy and quickly realized my SAE sockets and wrenches didn't quite fit. Metric either. The British had a third system. Whitworth (British Standard). A whole motorcycle full of mystery bolts

and I remember Mars orbiter that crash because of a snafu between imperial and metric units!

That’s what happens when you mix the two… carry the one to the 7th power and add 5.

That bracket almost looks like it's mounted backward! I'd have to remove my seat to confirm but I think that part we see should be pointed toward the rear?
