Back in early 70s, I bought a used 66 triumph 650 trophy and quickly realized my SAE sockets and wrenches didn't quite fit. Metric either. The British had a third system. Whitworth (British Standard). A whole motorcycle full of mystery bolts

and I remember Mars orbiter that crash because of a snafu between imperial and metric units!

That’s what happens when you mix the two… carry the one to the 7th power and add 5.
