well hello everyone,i'm new of course.i just bought a 2007 streetglide in june and i now have 2600 miles on it. my question is....andi hope i don't get answers that go opposite directions(then i'll be confused).i am wanting to put a slip on muffler on my bike with the stock headers left on. do i need the power commander or stage 1 air filter for this? i was told that as long as it was a SE SLIP-ON that i would not have to do the commander or air box mod.any help is greatly appreciated.thanks to all of you.Zach[sm=deal.gif]
welcome Zach...you should be O.K. with just slip-ons...but I strongly suggest you do the traditional stage-one...you'll be much happier with the outcome.
My understanding is you can change the mufflers only without a remap... If you do the stage one air then you will need a remap.
So. mufflers only, nothing else needs to be done to the bike.. I put SE slip on's on mine and didn't change anything else.
see me and a guy i ride with suggested the same thing, and for the money it's worth it in the long run(100 bucks at most or a little more). thanks man.any one else see it another way?
You can install MOST slip-ons without a Fuel Management System or Air Kit.... But you'll not be improving the performance or cooling the engine down in any way - Just giving you more sound!
see now i'm confused some are saying no and some yes,all i really am wanting is alot more sound, all the guys i ride with have exhaust and i can't here mine running (not funny). so i thought just a slip-on would be fine.[&:]
From all the post I have read everyone is saying no you don't need the remap. How ever you will not be satisfied later and want more that is when the remap comes in.
i just added the 1.75 rush slipons to my 08 ultra yesterday, went on a 200 mile ride today, and got better gas milage and more sound that i love...and a little popping on decel , but i like that... sounds like the ole time glasspack muffers....love it... don b
Even adding slip-ons on the 07's require a remap. In previous years you could add just slip-ons and be fine. With the new tuning on these bikes I would recommend you remap.
