help please!!!!!
You definitely should get a remap. Here's why...
The Harleys from the factory are very LEAN. They do that in order to pass the EPA emission standards. It's a somewhat artificial standard, because it mostly measures drive-by emissions at part throttle settings (typically 20 - 40% throttle). However, when you add a less restrictive slip-on, you increase the airflow. Net result? It's even leaner.
If you get an EFIremap, you will get a better running, cooler running, longer lasting bike that is far more responsive, is less prone to pre-detonation (pinging) and doesn't pop or backfire. If you go further and get a remap through either the Screaming Eagle Race Tuner (SERT) or Power Commander III (or many of the others), you will probably pick up 8-15 lb ft of torque and maybe 5 - 10 Hp, plus better economy. There are many excellent articles on this subject, including our very own Terry1955 here...

or Joe Minton at American Rider magazine, who writes about it on a very regular basis, but you could start here...

Believe me, it's worth getting it done right, otherwise you're only getting 80% of the bike's potential.
Now if you increase the airflow by adding the stage one air thats a different story, you are increeasing airflow and will need to richen it up thus you will need some type of fuel management system whether it be a SERT, PCIII or whatever.
