Thanks for all the replies. I enjoy washing and detailing my bikes myself but living in an apartment with no hose, it's tough. I don't like going to car washes because I feel rushed. Like I need to get out of someone else's way. I like to take my time. I was just looking for an option until I buy a house down here. Scottsdale HD charges $90 for a wash, $180 for a detail. Detail Boss is $350 for a stage 1. Bikini washes - I've never had one. I worry about what they might do to the bike with a towel they've been using all day. Maybe I'm wrong and shouldn't worry so much. Perhaps the dealer washes are the same way - dirty towels.
I don't know... on one hand I'm picky and nervous but on the other hand, I don't want to **** with it, and on the 3rd hand I don't want to PAY for it. Guess I just need to hurry up and buy a house with a garden hose!! Haha
I tried some brand name waterless washes. Never again. Ended up washing the bike to remove all wax, and then had to reapply wax and polish the chrome. That stuff only should only be used on "slightly" dirty bikes. I clean the forward facing stuff after a weekend of riding. Stuff like the windshield, fairing, forks and front fender. Depending on the season, I'll clean my windshield and stuff in the morning as the dew has softened up the bugs. When at home, my bike is in the garage.
What WW did you try? Are you saying the WW removed the wax?
