If buying new, Why not buy an 8.5 wide trailer to makes life easier?

If 7 foot is your only option, the try the chalk line on the driveway idea. But it will be tight!

I use a 7x12 flatbed (open) and stagger them... works just fine. I plan to get an enclosed trailer of the same size and anticipate no probs whatsoever. I use the B&W Biker Bar and really, really like it. Some folks use a front wheel chock with it but I don't; I have had my front wheel turn just very slightly on a long trip, not enough to be concerned about at all. I do, however, put a strap on the rear wheel just to make sure it doesn't shift left or right on these pothole-ridden interstate roads we have because I have two baggers back there and I want zero chance of them touching.

Staggered as mentioned is your only choice. I use removable wheel chocks so I can use the trailer for other stuff. You may need to fold up the floorboards on the inside of the two bikes so you can get a boot in and out. There's also the bang factor against the walls when traveling (ask me how I know) so make sure you have enough space away from the walls and they are secured tight.
Also think about linoleum flooring. I found out if you get the rear of one in a little wonky you can slide the rear wheel easier. Ratchet straps or your back against the wall and push the wheel with your feet.

That would never work on my lighter single axle trailer. The last time I tried to go even a short distance without tie-downs on the rear of the bike it shifted over and almost got into the side rail. I won't be doing that again!

I have D Rings in the floor right behind the rear wheels. I use shortened ratchet straps through the wheels at the bottom. That way it pulls the rear wheels down. Not back, or sideways.

If you are buying new, why not just get a 7 1/2' wide by 14', or even 12' long...I just did this with a NEO fully enclosed 7 1/2 x 12 ...placed the left Condor 2'- in, off the left wall and right before the "V" starts; stagger the right side Condor back by 1' - 1 1/2' again 2'- in, from the right side wall...that leaves you about 3 1/2' between bikes...

Depending where you are in ME, I could show you and give a hand if you need it?

+1 on the biker bar, I love mine. I have traveled 1K miles and she did not budge, even with the horrible roads we have now days

I put 2 street glides in a 7x14. They are staggered and fit just fine. I put e-track down, one down the middle and one down each side and use condor wheel chocks. Have never had a problem in about 5,000 miles of towing.

Another vote for the B&W biker bar. Bike is locked in. Don't have to crawl around and over the bikes to find just the right place to put the straps. If you want to use your trailer for something else just remove 2 bolts for each biker bar and they come right out.
