Default 2003 Ultra Radio

I recentlybought a used 2003 Ultra Radio to replace the original radio inmy 2002 Ultra. The original radio worksfine;I just wanted a CD player. Is thisa simple plug and play swap? If not, anyone havespecifics on this replacement process? Also, is the 2003 Ultraunitcapable of playing MP3 format files on the CD? Thanks.

Should be plug and play for an ultra toultra radio swap. No, the cd player is only a cd player.

I agree it should be a plug and play.

I doubt that the '03 radio is a pure "plug and play" swap, mainly because the '02 tank console has switches that are not present on the '03 Ultra tank console. The '02 tank console has switches for the CB/Intercom that the '03 does not. If you simply want to be able to play the '03 radio/CDs on your '02, you will probablybe okay. If you want CB/Intercom features, however, you will need to make some wiring changes, IMHO.

Yeah...plug and play....for MP3s, get a cheap MP3 player/recorder (Sandisk, IRiver, Samsung, etc....anywhere from 512 MB to 8 GB) and it'll play MP3 tunes through the "Aux" in on the CD player...no prob and cheap way to go.
