My sympathy & best wishes for your friends recovery. Accidents like that are terrible for everyone concerned, & you have to make the decisions that work for you. That being said, I often wonder why injury related to sport/recreation activities often results in the abandonment of that activity.
I've lost friends/acquaintences in motorcycle accidents, sky diving accidents, & auto accidents. We regularly hear about airline accidents, train accidents, bus accidents, accidents in amusment parks, etc., yet we seldom hear of anyone deciding not to drive, fly, take public transportation, visit amusment parks, etc.
I'm sure your decision was difficult for you, but also right for you. Good luck to you & your friend.
Sorry about your bud, but you should do what is right for you. Who knows, maybe down the road you'll feel differently and get back on a bike again. Good luck.
Terrible story... sorry to read... Wwe all know every time we go out that we may get invloved in this type of situation...allthough we dont dwell on it.. we have to do what we do as it is in our blood. We can go out in our cage and get killed just as easy.. we cannot live our lives worried about doing what we love.
If this was not the case.. man would have never sailed the oceans or traveled to outer space.. NASA still flys regardless of the history of loss of lives!..
I pray for your bud!
IM SORRY TO HEAR THIS BAD NEWS. As a Captain on a Paid Fire department we go to Motorcycle crashs alot. More than I care to see.
Makes me wonder? Ever time I ride. I've slowed down. Speed limit! Intersections.
Fall asleep at the wheel, drugs, Intoxicated. You just never know.
Sorry.
Everyone handles these unfortunate happenings in different ways. A close bud of mine got taken out for good a few years ago on his bike. The first thing i did after hearing about it was get on my bikeand go for a good long ride while thinking about him, to honor his love for riding in my own personal way. That was my way. I understand this may not work for everyone.
