Yes and Yes.. Cut out and bike runs. Where is 18 volts?

But not everything cuts out. So that tells me not the switch.

Yeah about the pining of the voltmeter but if the accessory part of the switch is flaky, the radio, cig lighter, instrument lights and tail lights won't work. You are supposed to know wiring diagrams. Go look at what the accessory stuff powers. The ign switch powers 2 things when bike is on. Figure it out and get back to us.

Next question, why do you think it is doing it under load? Which is either revving bike up to high RPMs or acceleration, not sure from info.

or RPM? I don't know. But not sure there is that much difference in vibration on these roads around here going 60 vs accelerating to 70.

OK Broken ground wire in the main harness at the neck.. What are the miles on the bike?

If the ignition switch is flaky and the power to the Accessory wire is lost, you can see from the wiring diagram all the stuff that loses power.
