Vivid black is just black, fancy name for black,lol. Friend teased me about mine being purple, but its a different color, heck under some lighting conditions it looks black.
I was about ready to get black cherry til I saw it in the sun. To me it looked brown. Check out all your color choices in different light if you can. I didn't really know black pearl had all the green and purple metal flakes until I had already wrote the check. I like it though.
