You need a much taller windshield. I'm almost a foot shorter than you and have a 4.5" and the 6.5" was just barely too tall for me. I bet you can still see over a 10" windshield. Windshield needs to hit you at your nose or so.
The issue with a big windshield is it hitting my bars. I went for a real good ride today and the fangs help alot. When I open my legs wide I still get some air coming up but not as bad. At about 120km plus I get a small bit of blurred vision buffering. I can raise my hand to the front of my helmet and it's gone, I'll try the 6.5 and go from there. I'm sure that will be fine because I'm also going for looks as well as function. A great big windshield just doesn't look good to me. Surprisingly the fangs blend in with the whole bike being black.

Can't have both. Either rock the bars away from it or put lower bars on. Or go to the dark side and get a Road Glide.
I'm sure the 6.5" shield with a recurve will work out for you in the end.
Not quite an SG, but when I ride with the detachable batwing on my King I get calm air up top with a tall shield. I do welcome the air coming from under the tank though during warm temps. Just a thought but in addition to the fangs, maybe those wind deflectors for the bottom of the batwing will help with the wind down low. I don't have them, but maybe someone who does might be able to chime in.

I just ordered the fangs for my '15 Freewheeler as they were the answer to buffeting on my '10 RK . The free and the RK are the same configuration ( Memphis Shades)and use the same parts. I'll post after I install them but are sure they will cure my problem.
