I've had rotator cuff surgery on the left and the right one is due next. Pick up a set of motorcycle drop guards https://motorcycledropguards.com/ and sign up for an advanced riding course at your local HD dealership. The advanced course is only a step up from the beginner course except you use your own bike.
I myself research alternatives on how to ride my ultra classic safely again. I'm dealing with sciatica nerve pain from my back to lower extremities. An because of this, at times I deal with balance issues. I budgeting to purchase the Landing Gear kit... cheaper than a trike too.
