So I spent big money on a tune and it did not fix the noise. I was very disappointed to say the least. The bike still makes the noise but at this point I am not going to keep throwing money at it. If it breaks then it breaks. I will address it then. My "pinging" also sounds like the left side. I may take off the primary cover and check the compensator next.
My Ultra pings when it's hot out (90+ degrees) riding fully loaded 2-up and I increase throttle quickly at lower RPM (2200-2500) Totally stock except for cat delete. But it only pings for less than half a second on initial throttle tip in. I don't remember it doing this until recently. Bike has almost 55K on it. Probably carbon buildup. Anyway, I try to adjust under these conditions, shift down a gear, go easier on acceleration etc. and use 93 octane. Detonation is certainly not good for your engine.

what did the tuner say about the pinging. If it is truly pinging they would have noticed it during the tune.
I've tried several different maps on the PCV but it still does it. I have dialed it in pretty nice though but still get the Ping when hot & getting on the throttle around 2500 rmp.

I dont why you are upset. You decided the issue was the tune and choose to have it tuned. That is the problem with buying modified bikes/cars the are a pig-in-a-poke.
Modified bike could be anything.
91 Octane fuel not enough unless off the showroom floor. 93 at minimum.

I was chasing a 'ping' for months with my 103(2009). Started realizing just run the RPMs up higher & don't have any load whatsoever in 6th gear. Still catch it occasionally for a few seconds in 4th or 5th at times. Would be glad to run 93 but can't get it here. Has a rich tune from the old orange tuner which I have but never wanted to mess with it cause she runs great otherwise.

The engine is telling you that at that temp..... 2500 is too low of an rpm/too high of a load for "getting on the throttle". You need to downshift...
I just talked to my Indy mechanic and he told me the Screaming eagle tuner is now obsolete and a paperweight. I have my PV3 that was on the street glide I traded in, I will call Fuel moto tomorrow for a new license and see if they can send me a new tune. I believe its a tuning issue now and a new tune may help this issue. Either way I need a new license for the PV3 regardless so we will see how that goes.
