Default Ohlins Suspension

I ride a 2019 CVO RG. It came stock with a 21" front wheel. If I remember correctly in 2019 H-D lowered the front suspension 1" to better work with the 21" wheel. I talked to a tech at Ohlins and although they don't make a cartridge kit for my bike they do offer the fork kit listed below. I am going to go with Ohlins HD 776 rear shocks which are 12" shocks with 3" of travel. I want to keep the geometry as close to stock as possible. So my question is, is there anyone that has had Ohlins install the fork kit shown below and is so how much of an improvement is there on ride quality and handling.

Here is the fork kit info for the Road Glide CVO with 21" front wheel:
1ea. FKS 228 fork kit: $949.00.
1ea. 08866-04 lowering kit springs: $219.00.
You will have to purchase new inner fork tubes (we supply) at $100.00 each.
You will have to send the forks in to us for the fork kit installation (or do it at an event).
Please fill out service form at our website: https://www.ohlinsusa.com/moto-service .
Labor cost to install: $350.00.
Total: $1718.00 and your forks come back to you ready to bolt up & ride!

Default They might make one now

Found this on ohlins USA

I have a 2019 CVO Road Glide as well. I just bought legends for the CVO not sure if I want to put them on. Had legends on a 2003 FLTHCI and it rode terribly. Felt every thing through the handle bars.

Meanbastard, thanks for chiming in. I considered going with legends as well but I want to keep the stock geometry. Legends front cartridge kit will bring the front end up an inch. If you decide to try out the Legends in the near future let me know how they work out for you.

Definitely raised it about .5 inches maybe more but when I sit on it I'm still flat footed. I really want to hate them so much, but I don't. I only went 20 miles on these but they are definitely designed for the bike. My 03 has the axeos up front too but they were way to firm. I mean jarring firm, felt everything through the handle bars. These feel firm but supple.

Weird, I still want to hate them but I'm starting to like them. I will say that they aren't much of an improvement over stock. They track better, no fork dive, blah blah blah. The stock really isn't that bad.

I will say the rear revo A's at 13" and sit at stock height with my weight and they make all the difference. The axeos do complement but aren't necessary. I'm going to keep them but doesn't mean they're right for you.

I tried to upload attachments from my phone but I'm having a hard time.

Thanks for your review on the Legends. I am still on the fence with them. I have read a lot of good reviews about them and maybe an easier route as I don't have to send my forks to Legend like the Ohlins. The pics are helpful, I am going to do a similar measurement.

The cb650r will feel smooth as butter. I test rode one before deciding on the xsr. It really depends what youre looking for. I liked the xsrs engine character much more. To me the honda engine was too smooth and therefore felt boring. Dont remember the suspension. But thats just me. If you like smooth and overall a good price/perf package then checkout triumph as well.
