Unlike most of the reviews you received so far I think advanblack is definitely a lower quality than OEM. I owned a set of the stretched bags. They are a lighter weight material and flimsy. They are the same thickness but not as strong. I agree with the comment about Amazon. If you are buying black the Amazon stuff is the same thing. Advanblack doesn't paint vivid black because the parts are delivered to them already painted black, they then paint them to match other colors. If you are looking for a low cost alternative it may work for you. I have seen vids on YouTube of people having problems with tour packs cracking and breaking.

Thanks to you as well. Let me add this. I don't know how long ago some of the folks on here ordered their items. Advanblack has continually improved their items IMHO. I also liked their lowers come with removable screens so you can have additional cooling in summer other than the adjustable vents. I do not recall any OEM Harley lowers coming with that feature. You can take the screens out for cold or bad weather and put solid covers in those slots. They just snap in and out.

I have the mid frame deflectors and the fairing vent light insert, and there are some other things I would buy.
I have seen the TourPacks crack, and the super flimsy speaker lids for the bags, so I would be very selective on what I bought to go the distance.
As for the paint match, my experience has been spot-on

There are two kinds of people in this world... those who prioritize quality + service over price, and those who prioritize price over quality + service. This decision is purely a factor of which camp you fall into. There's no right or wrong answer, but there's also no free lunch here.

I invested significantly into Advanblack items because I was led to believe (on this forum) that the quality was decent. It wasn't. And the service was even worse. After armwrestling with the stuff for a day or two, and wondering how Advanblack could have possibly cut so many corners, I threw everything into a dumpster and ordered OEM and never looked back.

yeah, you can do that with the harley lowers. all you have to do is buy the screens that go to the twin cooled versions. then just pop that solid blank out and pop the screen in. fun fact. the hd screens fit on the amazon lowers as well. did that on both my pairs.

i fall in between the two camps. sure, i went with the cheapo amazon lowers. why? i can get 6 sets for the cost of one oem set. and lowers are something that sit low to the ground and get beat to **** by road debris. now, for the tourpack, i went oem. even though i don't use it but a couple of times a year, i wanted to go with the hd quality on that.

The match to Vivid Black is decent. But check out the quality of the paint. Reflections of straight lines... TourPak is Advanblack. Waaaavvvvyyyy. Saddlebag lids are Harley OEM. There's no comparison. I don't want this trash on my bike. So... it's no longer there.

I agree with some that the H-D is the better choice...if you can afford it. I've gone H-D since the get-go and have been very satisfied. I have the newer style chopped TP on my '13 King for about 10 years now, and have recently switched to the newer style bags. The TP goes on and off maybe about 6-7 times a year for long trips and everything works as when new. The lowers also go on and off frequently and no rattles on the vents, as some have experienced.

I agree with grinner on the paint. My riding buddy has that same TP and, yeah, you can tell on the paint. I'll also add the H-D products are not made of ABS. It's a nylon resin H-D calls GTX, at least they did some years back and all, including the fairings, are still made at their factory in Tomahawk, WI.

I just got some Advanblack quick release docking brackets delivered for mine. I had installed cheap eBay ones because it's unlikely I'll ever actually use the tourpak again, but I wanted that option. The cheap ones lasted a year before reaching my rust tolorance limit - as expected.
The Advanblack ones are still on the toolbox because there are a couple of spots where the chrome was dinged enough to see copper through the dent on the exposed surface. I haven't decided if that's going to get them returned yet, but that chrome is super thin.

I brought a Advanblack chopped tour pac nearly 6 years in Candy Hot Rod Red Flake, I admit I was very apprehensive that the colour would match but it was perfect.
After 4 years I noticed the bottom of the tour pac had cracked, evidently its a not an uncommon thing to happen due to the design (its an exact copy of the Harley chopped tour pac}.
I contacted them and sent them pictures, not expecting much as I had owned it for 4 years, to my surprise they offered to replace it FREE OF CHARGE, I only had to pay shipping, of course I took up their offer.

Now to make things clear, I did fit the supplied inner plate to help stopping the mounting bolts being pulled through that cheaper variants don't offer, but its the design of the trunk that causes the splitting as the centre is supported but not outer edges and if you carry excess weight cracking can occur.

Advanblack now offers a new tour pac mount that should stop this potentially happening again, their new mount will work for HD tour pacs as well as any other tour pacs from other cheaper suppliers, I suggest anyone interested in more info about this mount to look up 'Professional Monkey' on YouTube where he clearly shows and explains about this new mount.

I know when I get my next tour pac who will supply it and what mount I will use
